An Impressive Axe Commercial – Falling Angels

It’s not often that an Axe commercial is able to get my attention in a mesmerizing way. This recent advertisement from Axe is not only a beautiful spot but also delivers their message in a way were not accustom to seeing. We’ve grown to see Axe as a brand built to connect with immature guys who keep count of the number girls they sleep with. Their brand messaging has always been about their product attracting females and this advertisement doesn’t shy away from this concept. What it does do however, is spread their brand message in a more elegant and captivating way. Sure everyone will always remember the first time they say the dirty balls commercial. But this spot is one that I’ll be remembering for quite a while…

Let me know what you think:

oh and by the way women do not fall for this false advertisement guys that do
are immiture and fantisise toooo much …just saying

Now, that’s sexist. Not the ad.

I think all Axe ads are sexist in the sense that they are pitching young men on the idea that women will be irresistibly drawn to them because of it, but what else is new? I could name many ads that are *-ist; just pick your poison.

I think this ad is a very clever and well-produced spin on a creaky old pick-up line. More clever than Britney’s “Hold It Against Me.” I give the commercial a B+, the song a B, and kids these days a D-.

Love it! — I agree with you 100%.

The ad is compelling/clever enough to capture our attention. Sure it’s a little shallow but at the end of the day, it’s no more shallow than an targeting women that makes guys think they should try to be like the Old Spice guy. Sex sells.. It still does and always will… Sure there are other ways to get messages across but when it comes to this target market, sex is the most powerful influence.

People take the littlest things waaay too seriously these days…I mean, seriously people it’s media art and entertainment. Some of you need to loosen your laces, loosen up that tie and dig that stick outta your asses.

I typically hate Axe commercials, because they are blantantly sexist and stupid, however I have to give credit where credit is due – so hats off to the creative minds behind this advertisement. It was beautifully arranged, captivating, and entertaining all at once. As it was said before, “well executed.” I thoroughly enjoyed what I believe is the extended version.

The wings and halos are beautiful. Unfortunately they’re ruined by robes that look like they were designed by the same geniuses that come up with the costumes for female super heroes.

It’s just as bad as the Old Spice commercials. “Your man could smell like ______”.

Yeah, and I can spray febreeze on my trash can to make it smell nice too. That won’t magically make it into a chocolate cake. I’d rather my husband -be- a good man than -smell- like one.

Thanks for the comment – I really appreciate you taking the time to provide a solid argument against this. I do believe you make a great point (and analogy) in regards to the febreeze and trash… At the end of the day though, most people will simply see this as being a beautiful ad that makes guys believe they to can land an angel if they wear Axe body spray.

  • Britnyewadlow

it is still sexist but you have a good point

  • Britnyewadlow

your just jelious because i made a good point
