When was the last time someone made light of what you were doing? Turned your product into a parody on YouTube? Or maybe, mimicked the fact that you’re always tweeting or blogging…
Recently? – Good, embrace it.
Never? – Uh oh, time to fix that.
If people are making posts that they hate you, your brand, your product or your ad campaign. You’ve won.
You’ve done something worth talking about, worth noticing and most importantly worth remembering.
Those companies chucked into a parody or bashed in a post are usually the ones that find the most success. With that said, don’t go out there and start doing things detrimental to your career or business. It’s not easy having people make fun of you or the things you do. Just remember that 10% of the people you meet will never like you anyway. So go out there and Do something creative.
Do something worth talking about. Do something…That cannot be ignored.
It could be the simplest thing. From starting a blog about your passion to using twitter on a daily basis. No matter what you do, if it’s not what the average Joe is doing, you’ll find criticism.
However, you can easily avoid all of this. Some people are afraid of criticism. So sure, you can avoid having a parody made of you, finding your ideas being ripped apart by other bloggers; you can even avoid having people argue with you.
That’s easy. You just have to accept status quo.
But by accepting status quo, you will be far from remarkable.
You’ll just another face in the crowd.
And with competition at an all time high; being another face in the crowd just won’t cut it.
Would anyone make a Hitler Parody about you or your brand?
